Medical ethanol plants

Hydrous and anhydrous ethanol routes for medical applications. We coordinate refining, dehydration, product-contact materials and sampling around the agreed pharmacopoeial or purchaser specification. The Indonesia upgrade combines a 50,000 t/y ENA scope with a 30,000 t/y medical anhydrous scope; the product split defines the process balance.

Specify the product before the process

Fuel ethanol, neutral alcohol and industrial anhydrous ethanol serve different buyers and applications. Alcohol strength alone cannot establish fitness for all of them. The technical agreement identifies the applicable product specification, analytical method, reporting units, sampling conditions and laboratory responsibilities.

Build a complete analytical picture

Our laboratory programme includes appearance, colour, odour, alcohol concentration, aldehydes, fusel oil, methanol, acidity and esters. It also addresses fermentation and process measurements. The project laboratory plan selects the relevant tests for the required product and uses agreed, current methods rather than treating every historical procedure as mandatory.
